The Development Planning Office, established in March, 1980, is a major think tank of the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH).  It is responsible for policy research and development, overall planning, and information management.  It also offers policy-making recommendations and plans to the NTUH leadership.

The duties and responsibilities of the three sections of the Development Planning Office include:

¡´ Section 1

a.       Assisting the NTUH in building up the vision and strategies.

b.      Monitoring and evaluating strategic programs and major projects of the NTUH.

c.       Developing Medium- and Long-Term Programs framework of the NTUH.

d.      Collecting annual departmental projects and setting annual performance goals, performance indicators and other innovative measures in the policy planning review process.

e.       Collecting critical quality and utilization indicators of the NTUH.

f.        Estimating the annual revenue and expense of the NTUH.

g.       Drawing up and carrying out innovative plans and projects assigned by NTUH authorities.¡@

¡´ Section 2

a.      Organizing and integrating the ¡§Comprehensive Improvement of Service Quality Project¡¨ conducted by the Research, Development and Evaluation Commission of the Executive Yuan.

b.      Gathering and handling customers¡¦ suggestions and comments about the service of the NTUH.

c.       Conducting patients¡¦ opinion surveys for services of the NTUH.

d.      Promoting the implementation of the Healthcare Quality Improvement Circle.

e.       Coordinating the practice programs for students from the department of public health and hospital management of the universities or graduate school.

f.        Encouraging staff members to put forth the innovative proposals for the management of the NTUH.

g.       Drawing up and carrying out innovative plans and projects assigned by NTUH authorities. 

¡´ Section 3

a.       Organizing the establishment of new branches or divisions of the NTUH.

b.      Evaluating and planning the merger of hospitals.

c.       Drawing up the master plan for the northwest section of the NTUH.

d.      Organizing training programs for top leaders and department heads.

e.       Drawing up and carrying out innovative plans and projects assigned by NTUH authorities.¡@
